Look Ma, No Urps!

OK...it's now safe to report this, so report this we will.

Today was not only a vomit free day, but an urp free day. There were no urps, no retches, no gags, no gurgles, no send-ups, no clothing changes, no emergency baths, no frantic calls for rolls of paper towels and/or wipes, no regrets, and no mommy tensions.

Hallie did have more than four ounces at breakfast, more than four ounces at lunch, more than five ounces at dinner, at least 22 ounces of her goat milk formula, 2 great big poops, and one nice bath (with no ingestion of bath water, which alone would have ruined the day). (She probably also ate a few bites of board book, but that's another story).

She played with her friends, had her first outing to Target as a shopping cart rider (with great cover from Grammy covering any nasty germs on it), and had a wonderful day. She seemed even happier than ever---and all this in spite of teething (breakthrough of lower right molar seems imminent to me).

Anyway, this may not be repeated for a long time, but suffice it to say: it was a good day.

HURRAY! We're so happy for you.
I never truly understood the stress associated with vomit until these past few weeks of S&E sickness. The throwing up of precious calories caused a great deal of stress, and Edwin and I found ourselves very stressed and at each other's throats. My heart goes out to parents who deal with this on an every day basis, and I hope Hallie continues this trend as I know it will help EVERYONE feel better!

HOORAYYYYY!!!! This was the pick-me-up post that I needed tonight. I'm so happy to hear you guys had such a fabulous day. Tell Hallie to keep up the great work. I bet you two don't know what to do with all your free time left over from the lack of laundry ;)

omg - must have been something in the air today... I'm so glad you had a great day, I hope you continue to have many.

Today I took Arianna to the library to get books/videos and then to Dollar Tree to get a new hairbrush (long story with that one). Being pregnant I'm uber paranoid to do too much lifting so I'm relying on her to do walking and I held her hand and we walked from the car to the library and store. I actually had a great day walking with her - doing 'normal' things.

She was very vocal saying 'Hi!' and 'Buh Bye!' to everyone she met, cuteness overload! I've never had the opportunity to go out in public with her and actually have people comment about how cute she is and how lucky I am to be her mom (like I had to be told that). It's a shame I had to wait close to 2 years to get that feeling...

Here's to hoping we get lots of more days like these!

Urp free days were THE best when we were going through the worst of the feeding stuff!!! In all seriousness, one urp free day is progress.

I am so happy for you guys!!!

What a great day. I am sure it was a still a stressful day waiting to see if the mini volcano erupts. It does get better; one day turns into and then three and when you are compltely elated she gets new teeth or sick and it falls backwards. Glad to see she loves shopping a typical little girl. Elizabeth could spend all day at the mall and crys if we drive by without stopping.

Hey there. It's Shanon Woolley - Kinnick and Carver's mom. You are more then welcome to link to my blog. Do you mind if I link to your blog? I'm so glad that you found my blog. I can't wait to read up on Hallie. It's so nice to talk to other preemie moms. It's such a great "support group".
